"It eluded us then, but that's no matter - tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther... I was going to wait until I had watched all of these to comment, but after a week and only being halfway through the list, I ought to comment now.
ReplyDeleteSo far, my favorites are Unsolicited Advice for Adolescent Girls and Shrinking Women. Cuz He's Black made me cry and they all make me want to write the most amazing poetry the world has ever heard. Watching and listening to these makes me feel like every life is made of poetry and we just have to be brave enough to write it down.
Thank you for sharing.
Too bad I have such lame internet at home and I can't watch these, but I will try to watch them at school soon. I just like looking at the photos of the poets - so much passion!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to be able to carve out the time for these either, but I tell you, this Saturday it's gonna happen. Really. And I'm already with Justina: slam poetry makes me want to brave enough to write what's realy about my reality.
ReplyDeleteGuess what, guess what?! Instead of going to bed early last night, I sat with my earbuds in and watched Every. Single. Video. I cried multiple times. I laughed. I got chills at least as often as I cried. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
